actual jen update

Masa, ED and I went to go visit Jen last night at the Cleveland Clinic. Jen's mom was there (of course), and her good friend Meg was there too, visiting from New York.

Jen's been in the hospital since Friday night, and just transferred over to CC a couple of nights ago. She looked really good and had just washed her hair with some sort of waterless, alien head-pouch device.

Since she was supposed to walk around, we all took a stroll down the long hall to a sitting area. She had a pull-behind IV drip-bag machine on wheels (saline & potassium, I think) and of course the battery ran out as soon as she unplugged it. Apparently, those machines beep like mad as soon as the batteries run out of juice.

So, each time it started beeping -- about every three minutes -- she pushed a "hold" button on the machine to make it stop. Since that looked like a whole lot of fun, me and Masa took turns pressing it while we all talked (he kept saying he was trying to get the high score).

It was fun until the nurse yelled at Jen for pressing the "hold" button at all... I guess that wasn't one of those things you're supposed to do. Eh, those medical types are real killjoys.

One piece of good news about whole visit was that they finally let Jen have some solid food! I guess she'd only had one lousy popsicle since Friday, so she was really happy and looking forward to it.

Johnny and Jen's uncle showed up around 7:00 p.m. and we all hung around for a while. The AG people were on their absolutely best behavior, and we were hardly cruel to each other at all.

If Johnny or Jen sends an update to me or Masa, we'll post it on here.

Hey there guys...it's Jen's not-so-evil stepsister...I'm out on the west coast and won't be back until early in the week. Here's hoping she's out of CC and back home by the time I come back so I can visit her in much more pleasant surroundings...AKA HOME! Please know I am thinking about you all day long, Jen!
